Set of 4 Bavarian Fish Plates

This is a gorgeous set of late 19th century hand colored fish plates. There is a different fish depicted on each plate! Each plate measures 8” long, 7.5” wide.

I suspect they were made in what is now Germany although there are no markings on the plates. My research into similar plates suggests a German maker.

Perfect in a beach house or a bathroom, these would make a wonderful plate wall!! I collect these plates personally and have several plate walls! They are so fun to look at!

Condition – overall excellent, no chips, cracks or repairs but there are losses to the gold gilding on the rims of a plate or 2.
